Electrical Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, control, and integration of engineering activities and the development of project deliverables to insure the success of their project. The individual designs power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional and industrial facilities within a consulting engineering firm.  The Project Engineer utilizes his or her creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment to anticipate and solve engineering problems, determine program objectives and requirements, and develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.  The Project Engineer works closely with engineers and/or designers and delegates design responsibility and drawing production to them. The Project Engineer communicates with other disciplines to achieve a coordinated design. We are looking for the right person to mentor our well-qualified staff, interact with clients, and work with the rest of the team at Epstein. 

General Responsibilities

  • Gains a full understanding of the project objective, scope, deliverables, budget implications, and other factors that impact design activities.
  • Establishes design criteria for specific projects.
  • Takes responsible lead in the design and detailing of engineering systems. 
  • Manages the development of construction/equipment installation documents and project deliverables.
  • Performs analysis and design calculations or designates design and drawing activities to other project members.
  • Reviews and evaluates computer program and manual calculations for technical accuracy and compliance with established design criteria.
  • Coordinates with the project team and all design disciplines during the course of the project.
  • Performs field surveys and prepares associated reports.
  • Assists in preparing estimates of probable costs (i.e., for construction, equipment installation, etc.) at various stages of design.
  • Participates in preparation of project specifications.
  • Performs periodic design reviews; ensures designs follow specifications, codes and   regulations, and contract requirements.  Ensures technical and quality standards are maintained.
  • Reviews shop drawings for compliance with contract requirements and documents.


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with emphasis in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (preferred)
  • 7-10 years of successful project experience within a consulting engineering firm
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook and discipline specific software packages such as SKM Power Analysis and AGI-32 Lighting Analysis
  • Expertise in engineering systems and related design principles
  • Awareness of other disciplines and the interrelationship of the various elements of design
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and general building codes is a must
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • LEED Accreditation preferred

Electrical Estimators / Project Managers

Electrical Contractor is searching for an Estimator to join their established estimating team.   This Company specializes in Industrial/Institutional/Commercial construction with a wide range of projects.
Duties :

  • Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects utilizing company methods and techniques.  Including all material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work in sufficient time to permit careful analysis.
  • Specification review with special attention paid to details
  • Responsible for working with subcontractors and suppliers during bid to ensure bids are received in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Preparation of any change order estimates and documentation

  • Preparation and organization of submittals prior to project start.

Successful candidate will prepare electrical construction documents (shop drawings, permit drawings, BIM coordination drawings, record drawings, etc.)using AutoCAD and/or Revit; assist project managers and estimators; and perform other miscellaneous office tasks. Your Role with the Company:
The successful candidate will be working with our project managers and estimators from bid preparation through project close-out, to assure that projects are completed on time, on budget and per the terms of the client’s contract.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining client, subcontractor and vendor relations.
  • Preparing proposals and schedules for project bids.
  • Project data setup and maintaining project files.
  • Managing electricians’ weekly timesheets and safety logs.
